AVCHD file conversion to Quicktime. Solution for now.
Have you all seen AVCHD files yet ? Those shoot to SD card or Harddisk camera are using m2ts, Mpeg 2 Transport Stream, file format. For now you can not edit AVCHD file directly in FCP.
I know there should be an update for AVCHD editing in FCP6.01.(LINK)
I found a $30.00 U.S. Dollars solution that allows you to edit AVCHD file in FCP, FCP Express and iMovie.
The program is call Voltaic and the link is here: http://mac1080hd.com
Voltaic convert AVCHD to Apple AIC file format so Quicktime can see it.
Check it out with the demo version. Oh I read at the Voltaic F.A.Q. that it can only hand 500Meg file size for now.
